story of Susan Lindauer, an astounding real-life story of espionage,

In 2003 she was accused of conspiring to act as an unregistered lobbyist for the Iraqi Intelligence Service and engaging in prohibited financial transactions with the government of Iraq under Saddam Hussein.^[1][2][3]
Lindauer was found mentally unfit to stand trial in two separate hearings and all charges were dropped in 2009. Lindauer fought and won the right to refuse forced medication^[4][5] and was released in 2006.

Anything's possible.   Her story is strange.  She's arrested then declared mentally unfit.  If she's mentally unfit, she's not guilty due to dimissied mental capacity.

This review is from: Extreme Prejudice: The Terrifying Story of the Patriot Act and the Cover Ups of 9/11 and Iraq (Paperback)

My goal for purchasing this book: I wanted a book that analyzed the errors, omissions, deceptions, wrongdoings, negligence, etc. of the previous administration in connection with the Iraq War and the events leading up to the Iraq War. Based on the prior reviews, I believed "Extreme Prejudice" might be a good candidate to fill this need. Unfortunately, Ms. Lindauer's book disappoints. I had hoped the primary subject of her book would be the deception of the Bush administration. However, Ms. Lindauer's primary subject is really herself. She comes across as self-indulgent, paranoid, and a little bit ..."off." The writing is not bad (not great, either), but her constant self-referencing and "how could they do this to me; I'll show them!!!" diatribes get distracting.

The policies and practices leading up to the Iraq War are a serious subject, and people have a right to ask questions about what happened. However, any writer taking it upon herself to answer these questions should have a bit more detachment. I can't fault her for it, on a personal level, since she apparently went through a nightmare at the hands of the previous administration. However, her experiences clearly undermine her ability to weave together her very important story.

In addition, within 40 pages of the book, she lets the reader know that she has "psychic abilities" and that one of her assets had a talent for "precognition." This may work for some readers but doesn't get the job done for me.

Her psychic powers didn't help her "get the job done" either.  If she was really a "precog" she'd avoid her arrest, or, better yet, never applied to work at the CIA in the first place.

Lindauer might believe this.  She might really think she's at the center of a world shaking conspiracy.  But the people around her know better and are exploiting her for their conspiracy scams.

It's pretty sick. But predictable....if you really have precognition.

 A federal judge in Manhattan has ruled that Susan P. Lindauer, a former journalist and Congressional aide who was accused of working with Iraqi intelligence before the war, is still mentally incompetent to stand trial.

Ms. Lindauer, who had been declared incompetent for trial by Judge Michael B. Mukasey, now the United States attorney general, tried to persuade a different judge that she was now competent.

But the second judge, Loretta A. Preska of Federal District Court, ruled late Monday that while Ms. Lindauer was “highly intelligent” and “generally capable of functioning at a high level in many ways,” she also was suffering from a mental disease or defect.

As a result, the judge said, Ms. Lindauer was “unable to understand the nature and consequences of the proceedings against her or to assist properly in her defense.”

Ms. Lindauer, 45, pleaded not guilty to the charges against her, which include acting as an unregistered agent of Saddam Hussein’s government and engaging in illegal financial transactions with the Iraqi government.

Ms. Lindauer, who lives in a Washington suburb and remains free on bond, said by phone on Tuesday: “I am disgusted and horrified by the decision. The right to a trial is fundamental in a democracy. I have been fighting for a trial because I am innocent and I believe I have the right to prove my innocence.”

Judge Mukasey had earlier said that Ms. Lindauer was “seriously disturbed” and that even antipsychotic medication might not make her fit to stand trial.

He cited findings that she had paranoia and delusions of grandeur; he also questioned the strength of the government’s case, saying, “There is no indication that Lindauer ever came close to influencing anyone, or could have.”

Judge Preska, in her ruling, said that Ms. Lindauer generally understood the roles of jurors, prosecutors, defense lawyers and judges, but did not seem to have a “rational understanding of the roles” they played in her case.

The judge cited the testimony of a government psychiatrist who said that Ms. Lindauer claimed to have special powers and that she had indicated she once met with Osama bin Laden, who disclosed to her the location of a bomb. The judge said that demonstrated “a lack of connection with reality.”

Judge Preska also cited Ms. Lindauer’s behavior in court last year, when, after being admonished not to speak without first consulting with her lawyer, she stuffed tissues in her mouth. That was “not the response of someone rationally connected to the proceedings,” Judge Preska said.

We don't need a psych evaluation to see Lindauer is nutty squirrel nuts.  Evdokas has to know it.  Lindauer is just another dupe being exploited by the conspiracy cult.
