I'd like to extend my thanks to whoever it was among us who took the initiative to create an indymedia mirror to wikileaks, here: http://wikileaks.indymedia.org/ The wikileaks team deserves all the support it can get, in these crazy times. The global features editorial group is preparing to publish an article in support of wikileaks, as well, which is another good step. But: taking the step to create an imc mirror to wikileaks involves all us, especially given the possibility that our entire indymedia network might be knocked off the internet in retaliation by the imperialist powers who want to silence wikileaks. It's a worthy risk to take, and I support it. ww But there was no discussion about it anywhere on our global lists. Neither imc-communication nor imc-process have a single email about this proposal. We should have been asked for input so that it could be a democratic decision with transparency The motives are great and the cause is worthwhile, but this decision by-passed even the most rudimentary of our principles of unity. Even if the practicalities of it demanded some secrecy (as they should, given the sensitive nature of the issue) we could have still discussed together it a little and then empower a group of our colleagues to take whatever steps needed to actualize the democratic decision. But as it stands now, someone took a decision for all of us, and all of indymedia is involved in it. Again, I applaud the step, and if it had been proposed to any of our bodies I would have supported it with fervor. But I'm dissapointed with the lack of transparency. My honest thanks again to whoever it was. Petros, volunteer, Cyprus IndyMedia Collective http://petros-evdokas.cyprus-org.net/Another-sort-of-Introduction.html
a: share his concern there might be retaliation
b: TELL HIM WHO DID IT ON A PUBLIC LISTSERVE
That's gonna happen.
This feeble information trolling was picked up by Evdokas' gal pal Lamadrid:

As many of you know, Paypal has taken an official stand against Wikileaks. I for one will never use Paypal again. I hope you feel the same way.

And the Indymedia mirror is really quite significant...

Especially given the lack of transparency in how it came to be. Really -- I'm kind of tripping that I can click on a link with indymedia in the address and instantly be seeing Assange's smug-looking mug, asking for money.
in their feeds, and anyone looking at CNI's wiki page would see it's members are also softcore peddlers of Holocaust denial, as well as being possible informants:
The Council for the National Interest ("CNI") is a 501(c) organization in the United States advocating a "new direction for U.S. Middle East policy." With its sister organization the Council for the National Interest Foundation ("CNIF") it works to educate about and promote what it describes as "even handed policies by the U.S. government". Founded in 1989 by former Congressmen Paul Findley (R-IL) and Pete McCloskey (R-CA), the Council describes itself as "the only organization of its kind striving against tremendous odds to reverse the U.S. government's one-sided, one-way Middle East policies." CNI has been especially critical of the state of Israel and lobby groups that support it, like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee ("AIPAC"). The Economist wrote in 2007 that CNI "even bills itself as the anti-AIPAC." It is especially critical of what it alleges is Israel's misuse of U.S. taxpayer's money to fund activities in violation of international law, monitoring the use of U.S. taxpayer funds by Israel in the West Bank and in Gaza.Look! It's Brian Mcmanus' buddy Alison Weird! How cozy. Holocaust Denial comes later:
Ambassador (ret.) Robert V. Keeley is CNI's chair and former United States Ambassador David Newton is its vice chair. Alison Weir is the organization's president and former Central Intelligence Agency officer Philip Giraldi is Executive Director.
ControversyA website pimping Holocaust denial/anti Jew sources copy/pasta's Evdokas' thinly veiled fishing attempt at IMC. People didn't bite. It didn't help other IMC members thought Evdokas concerns were pure faggotry:
On March 28, 2000, Pete McCloskey, the chairman of CNI at the time, gave the keynote address on the subject of the Anti-Defamation League and free speech at a conference organized by the Holocaust denial organization Institute for Historical Review. When McCloskey ran in the 2006 Republican Party primary for congress, there was a public controversy over exactly what he said about The Holocaust at the event. McCloskey was endorsed by the San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Times despite the controversy, but lost the nomination by a 2-1 margin.

I'm not bothered. I'm thankful to not know who did it. I agree with the person's decision. Portland IMC functions on a trust plus consensus model which allows actions like this to be taken in a timely fashion. It is understood that people are trusted to not take controversial actions without consulting first. It seems obvious that most people in the IMC network (if not all) would support this action, so I don't see this person as intentionally violating any trust. Even if a person misjudges popular sentiment, actions like these can be undone if necessary. It could be removed or put to a vote for removal if someone disagreed. But I don't think they do. Looks like a non-issue to me. Solidarity, Victory! Portland IMC

Hundreds of mirrors were setup in the past couple days, see http://wikileaks.ch/mirrors.html I did a geoip lookup on all the publicly listed mirrors and found they're pretty well distributed, with germany, US and france leading the "mirror count": DE 143 US 117 FR 74 NL 34 SE 21 GB 17 ES 12 NO 9 CA 7 CZ 7 CH 6 FI 4 LU 4 DK 3 JP 3 PL 3 RU 3 BG 2 PA 2 SK 2 AT 1 AU 1 BE 1 EE 1 IN 1 MD 1 MY 1 NZ 1 PT 1 RO 1 UA 1 UY 1 --mark B.

Where is this going?
A week later everyone finds out when Evdokas, after conflabbing with NATFED cult victim Mitchel Cohen , decides THE JEWS are behind wikileaks/Assange. At least Evdokas starts spamming links saying so on cyprus IMC and thinks it's funny:

Recently during a discussion with Mitchel Cohen of the Greens in New York where we were discussing the dogmatism we see around us and need that some people have for "absolute", "black or white" positions surrounding Wikileaks, he said: "...I can see that some people -- many people? -- can't follow complexity and need to have their politics spoonfed." Unfortunately, that is very true. Complexity is built right into this whole issue. Even as we support Wikileaks, we are still able to worry, explore, investigate the behaviours, actions and words of Julian Assange in light of his personal reputation in the Movement, and also to explore the political ramifications of the Wikileaks cable releases. Political thought can not be cornered into George Bush's worldview expressed as "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." The Wilileaks secret cable releases brought up a whole new arena of political concerns: who is benefitting from all this? Are there any intelligence agencies involved in this story? It's all about complexities. There's a lot of discussion about whether, in addition to promoting freedom of information, Wikileaks might be benefitting the policies of Zionist Israel. If you're interested in more about this twist, the possible connection between Wikileaks and Israeli Zionists, there's already plenty of stuff being published about it. As usual, it's hard to separate from among the sources/authors who is a credible anti-zionist as opposed to a jew-hating racist, so here's one that's easy: Here, Zbigniew Brzezinski is not naming Mossad, he might as well be if you read his recent interview about Wikileaks. Here's an excerpt: "ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI: It's not a question of worry. It's, rather, a question of whether WikiLeaks are being manipulated by interested parties that want to either complicate our relationship with other governments or want to undermine some governments, because some of these items that are being emphasized and have surfaced are very pointed. And I wonder whether, in fact, there aren't some operations internationally, intelligence services, that are feeding stuff to WikiLeaks, because it is a unique opportunity to embarrass us, to embarrass our position, but also to undermine our relations with particular governments." http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/government_programs/july-dec10/weakileaks2_11-29.html And an astounding story, just surfacing now: "WikiLeaks 'struck a deal with Israel' over diplomatic cables leaks" http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2010/12/07/18665978.php [please note the discrepancy in the above story, there is NO Israeli Embassy in Beirut.] Netanyahu and Assange praising each other: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/wikileaks-founder-netanyahu-believes-expose-will-aid-mideast-peace-1.328380 Anti- Israel author and editor Gordon Duff, a Marine Vietnam veteran, and Senior Editor at Veterans Today who is very vocal about 9/11 Truth and the Mossad connection, is having a field day over these revelations Enjoy: "BUSTED!! Yep, THE JEWS are behind Wikileaks. We should have known. And Veterans Today is such a credible source.
Blakeney published a review of Jonathan Kay's Among The Truthers written by his academic mentor Anthony J. Hall on his online column in something called Veteran's Today which bills itself as a "journal of military and foreign affairs."Mmmm...Veteran's Today is another Holocaust Denial outlet and they're not softcore about it at all.
And what is this innocuously named "journal" about? A debunking of Veteran's Today by someone called Jon Revere (a truther but his article is well researched) found that:
And who are some of Blakeney's co-columnists on Veteran's Today? Well, one of them is Dr Ingrid Rimland Zundel, wife of Ernst Zundel, Canada's leading Holocaust denier. Mrs. Zundel in a recent column entitled The Munchousen Syndrome (actually the condition is called Münchhausen syndrome) is pretty upfront about her attitudes about Jews and the Holocaust.Quote:
Nice, huh? The Jews have a "syndrome" that causes them to lie about the Holocaust. It also makes you wonder about Frau Zundel's educational credentials (she can't even spell Münchausen, a well-known psychological syndrome, correctly )and the editorial policies of this "journal" that Blakeney is associated with.Quote:
The Jon Revere Blog content mirrored HERE for lulz.
The Southern Poverty Law Center chimes in on Veterans Today:
Veterans Today (VT) is a website that bills itself as a “military veterans and foreign affairs journal.” And, indeed, many of its contributors are military veterans or veterans’ advocates from across the political spectrum. VT also offers some information about veterans’ benefits (lifted from the Veterans’ Administration) and links to home and other loans for vets.
But start reading the posts, and you’ll find something else entirely: myriad claims that there was a conspiracy behind 9/11 (Israel orchestrated it, in cahoots with the American government), that the American government is a puppet (of Israel), that the Holocaust never happened or was greatly exaggerated (Jews made it up to manipulate non-Jews), and, most recently, that Julian Assange, the man behind Wikileaks, is a pawn (of Israel).
Notice a theme?
Gordon Duff, the senior editor and chairman of the board at VT, is a prolific proponent of these anti-Israel conspiracy theories, including the Wikileaks claims. Though he does occasionally write on issues and policies that directly affect American veterans (he claims to be a Marine Vietnam veteran), most of his ammo is reserved for churning out articles that claim 9/11 was a U.S./Israel conspiracy and that Israel controls the U.S. government. According to Duff and VT contributors like author and attorney Jeff Gates, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a civil rights watchdog group, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a lobbying group, are Zionist-controlled fronts for Israeli intelligence operations.
In December, Duff claimed that “insiders at the ADL” admitted that Israel was behind Wikileaks, perhaps a slam at an ADL piece a few days earlier. In that article, the ADL pointed out that many of the conspiracy theories about Israel and Wikileaks “are being promulgated by … anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist” Gordon Duff. Marilyn Mayo, a director at the ADL Center on Extremism, told Hatewatch that Duff did not speak to anyone at the ADL and, like other conspiracy theorists, he “makes information up and presents it as the truth.” Indeed, Duff claimed that the ADL website was “loading up with warnings and attacks” defending Wikileaks and Assange. But the ADL’s website claims nothing of the sort and Duff provides no evidence that the “ADL source” he says he is quoting actually exists.
Duff’s anti-Israel articles get a lot of play, and are often quoted or linked to on other conspiracy sites as well as on white nationalist sites like Stormfront and White News Now. Indeed, the anti-Israel bent on VT can slide pretty quickly into overt anti-Semitism. J.B. Campbell, a self-proclaimed founder of the militia movement, wrote this past November on VT: “Since Jews control every important aspect of our lives through banking, finance, law, war, food & drugs and entertainment, we are literally floating on a reservoir of truth blocked by a dam of lies… . The Jews have poisoned our minds for a long time, certainly for all the time that we’ve been alive.” Campbell also claims that Jews control the Federal Reserve and the US Army.
VT has its supporters — check the comments (some virulently anti-Semitic) on any of its articles — but also detractors. A contributor at Burn Pit, a discussion list maintained by American Legion members, refuses to comment or answer questions about articles at VT. In early 2010, the blogger said that, according to VT, “9-11, just like everything else that has happened in the past 50 years to the detriment of the US and the world, is nothing short of the fauilt [sic] of an international cabal of Jews, which is my second reason for never replying to VT nonsense.”
American military veterans looking for information about veterans’ issues and a more balanced take on foreign affairs — as opposed to what looks like an endless stream of Israel-bashing mixed in with some bona fide anti-Semitism — would be better-served looking elsewhere.
Important to note Evdokas DID NOT share his Wikileaks/Jews lulz with the main IMC list.
Maybe Evdokas knew they would be unimpressed with his Holohoax Veteran's Day links as everyone else was.
In summary Evdokas, butthurt IMC users wouldn't share doxx on the Wikileaks love, so he spammed Wikileaks was a JEW operation.
Evdokas was right about one thing: retaliation from imperial forces. Easy to guarantee if you're a STRATFOR informer!
