Debunked: Veterans Today

Article exposing Veteran's Today as a fraud, written by one of the few "truthers" with brains.  Which  explains why he snapped out of it, deleted fucking everything and bailed from the "movement".

Debunked: Veterans Today
Wednesday, April 27, 2011 by Jonathan Reynolds
http://jonrevere.blogspot.com/2011/04/debunked-veterans-today.html

Since 9/11, U.S. soldiers have been exploited for both political and imperial gain. Now, with the growing popularity of "Veterans Today", it appears they're being exploited yet again.

Below is a photo of the "Editorial Board" at "Veterans Today":

Who are the people in this picture? The image has a captain on the lower right hand corner which says "Editorial Board"; and underneath, it reads:

EDITORIAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS

* Gordon Duff - Chairman of the Board, U.S. Marines
* Major Robert L. Hanafin - U.S. Air Force (Ret)
* Lt. General Hamid Gul - Former Head of Pakistan’s ISI
* Col. Eugene Khrushchev - Former Russian Army Officer and Military Analyst for Russia Today
* Dr. Alan Sabrosky - US Marine Corps Veteran and a graduate of the US Army War College.
* Khalil Nouri - Afghanistan Political Expert and Military Specialist
* Carol Duff - RN, BA, MSN
* Jim W. Dean – Military Order of World Wars, Assoc. for Intelligence Officers member
* Debbie Menon - Middle East Policy Expert

Do the people in the photo look like they're old enough to be a "Russian Army Officer", a "Middle East Policy Expert", or a "US Marine Corps Veteran and graduate of the US Army War College"? Not to judge on looks, but the individuals in the photograph appear to be college students.

See that banner in the window? Notice how it cuts off at the "&" symbol (yellow circle), appears to stretch to where the building outside the window intersects with the wall (red), and - not the mention - looks suspiciously identical to the image at the top of this blog entry.

This is a picture of Lt. General Hamid Gul.

His name is listed above and he is allegedly on the "Veterans Today" board of directors. Strangely, the people behind him are in the exact same position as they are in the photo of this room without his "presence" above.

Speaking of his "presence":

Look familiar?

It's from Aug 27, 2009 and was taken from an interview with Foreign Policy journal.

By the way, if it's true Hamid Gul is really working for "Veterans Today", that would certainly be interesting considering his Pakistani intelligence (ISI) connections:

http://www.historycommons.org/context.jsp?item=asummer01frompakistan#asummer01frompakistan

Mohamed Atta receives $100,000 from accounts in Pakistan. The money is transferred to two of his accounts in Florida.

http://www.historycommons.org/context.jsp?item=a093001pakistanmoneymedia#a093001pakistanmoneymedia

Several media outlets report that, in addition to other transactions, the hijackers received $100,000 wired from Pakistan to two accounts of Mohamed Atta in Florida.

http://www.historycommons.org/context.jsp?item=a073103pistole#a073103pistole

John S. Pistole, deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division, testifies before a Congressional committee. He states the 9/11 investigation “has traced the origin of the funding of 9/11 back to financial accounts in Pakistan, where high-ranking and well-known al-Qaeda operatives played a major role in moving the money forward, eventually into the hands of the hijackers located in the US.”

http://www.historycommons.org/context.jsp?item=a072404noisi#a072404noisi

Despite previous leaks to the media showing the 9/11 Commission was given information showing Pakistani officials were “up to their eyeballs” in collaboration with the Taliban and al-Qaeda before 9/11, and even reports of a document given to the commission claiming the “ISI was fully involved in devising and helping the entire [9/11 plot]”, the 9/11 Commission’s Final Report released on this day rarely mentions the ISI at all.

But, I digress...

Wow, look at that happy bunch of employees at "Veterans Today".

This looks pretty goddamn official, doesn't it?

Except... it's not:

(Around 70 additional examples of this stock photo being used on other websites)

There is a "Legal Notice" section on "Veterans Today" which reads: "It is the policy of the website to NOT publish any copyright material (typo alert) and if such an event occurs without the knowledge of the website, such material will be immediately removed upon written notice."

Perhaps this really means: "if we're using a stock photo and you want us to remove it, please message us and we will delete it."

What will you find on "Veterans Today"? Well, everything has pretty much one focus:

BLAME ISRAEL FOR EVERYTHING

75-90% of the articles on this website go back to Israel.

Granted, Israel is a violent state. Their conduct is often morally repulsive and they get away with - quite literally - murder on a regular basis.

However, the world is a big place. There are other interests at work. Let's not give all the credit to Israel.

According to articles on "Veterans Today":

* WikiLeaks is an Israeli Psychological Operation

... Unless they're being used to bash Israel, of course. Then they're legit.

Gordon Duff, "senior editor" at "Veterans Today", writes that his "friends at the Pentagon" who have security clearances "Bradley Manning could never dream of" say they have never seen an embassy cable in their lives.

“Hillary wipes her #@%* with them," his "friends" allegedly said, "We ain’t got em, can’t get em, don’t care, don’t want em, those folks over there are a pack of (frigging) morons. We don’t meet with them, we don’t read their mail and they don’t listen to us, especially when they should. It’s no secret that many of us here are Jews and that some see it as their duty to give everything over to Israel, and by everything I mean ‘the crown jewels.’ A few years ago, the FBI went after a few of the gang here and the mob at the White House, you know, that “Rosen” thing. The FBI got called off. They got everything nuclear stuff (typo alert), all our top secret technology, everything. This is why some people think keeping Pollard in jail is nuts, what he did goes on every day, went on then and goes on now. But it’s not just Jews and its not just Israel. The spy business is ‘private’ now, big bucks…”

Wikileaks is obviously pro-Israel, which is why the following cables were released:

http://www.juancole.com/2011/01/wikileaks-israel-plans-total-war-on-lebanon-gaza.html

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/wikileaks-israel-aimed-to-keep-gaza-economy-on-brink-of-collapse-1.335354http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3991191,00.html

http://www.democracynow.org/2011/1/4/headlines/wikileaks_israel_is_preparing_for_major_war_in_middle_east

* 9/11 was an Israel Intelligence (MOSSAD) operation

"Building a ‘mosque’ near Ground Zero, where nearly 3,000 people were murdered by Mossad and CIA"

Yep. Israel's intelligence agency (Mossad) clearly pulled off 9/11, which is why "on August 23, 2001, the Mossad had given the CIA a list of 19 terrorists living in the US. The Mossad had said that the terrorists appeared to be planning to carry out an attack in the near future. It is unknown if these are the same 19 names as the actual hijackers, or if the number is a coincidence. However, the four names on the list that are known are names of the 9/11 hijackers: Nawaf Alhazmi, Khalid Almihdhar, Marwan Alshehhi, and Mohamed Atta. These are also probably the four most important of the hijackers. From them, there were many connections to the others."

Makes sense.

Also according to "Veterans Today", "atomic bombs" were used on 9/11. After reading through seemingly endless mathematical paragraphs, the reader is brought to a disclaimer at the bottom of the page which reads:

"This article is entirely, completely and only my opinion based on the interpretation of the referenced information. While the views above may be shared by many millions (typo alert) exhausted by this government, they are only my views and I do not imply that they are actually shared by anyone else."

Thanks for wasting our time.

* Barack Obama's first priority is satisfying Israel

There shouldn't be much doubt that Obama is pro-Israel, especially considering his speech at AIPAC and refusal to condemn Israel. But is Israel his first priority?

I think the people at Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Boeing, Microsoft, Time Warner, Google, General Electric, and Raytheon might have something to say about that.

The only positive thing about "Veterans Today" is that it occasionally gives support to U.S. soldiers dealing with unemployment and/or post-war psychological issues.

Unfortunately, that does not justify peddling disinformation.

"Veterans Today" should be approached with extreme caution by anyone seeking truth in news. There are serious integrity and transparency issues with both the "staff", and the website itself. Yes, there are some legitimate stories to be found. But when fact is mixed with fiction, and done so deliberately, credibility becomes severely damaged as a whole.

 --------
Mirrored by The Screeching Kettle with an editorial update:

EDIT - 7/15/2012: VT has since updated their "About Us" page, including the following disclaimer: "VT is the only independent, unaligned voice of its kind in America, accepting no financial support from any organization or individual, existing solely for educational purposes.

... "educational purposes"? ... What exactly does this disclaimer mean?

Let's examine how other websites use this disclaimer:

"All information on this website or any e-book or any other software purchased through this website is for educational purposes only and is not intended to provide financial advice. Forex Automoney service is not providing any legal or financial advises and all information included here is presented only as a private opinion of author (and not advice or financial advice in any meaning, also in the meaning of any act, regulation or law of any country) and must not be used with financial activities."

"The material contained on this website (Alliance for Lupus Research) is provided for general information and educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice about anyone's specific medical condition or situation. This website should not be used or relied upon to diagnose or treat a problem, disease, or medical condition."

In the context of VT's usage, what does this say about the content of their website?

Moar lulzy commentary, including an epic debunking of the Wikileaks/JEWS connection:

As for the written content of VT -- the so-called "news" stories -- "Veterans Today" contains a collection of fecal matter larger than what you might find if you opened the septic tank of a public school somewhere in Manhattan.

For example, "Veterans Today" has
claimed on numerous occasions that the whistleblowing website "Wikileaks" is the product of Israel's spy agency, Mossad, and that Wikileaks has a pro-Israel bias.
Wikileaks: Israel Plans Total War on Lebanon, Gaza

WikiLeaks: Israel aimed to keep Gaza economy on brink of collapse

WikiLeaks: 'Israel overestimating Iranian nuke program'

WikiLeaks: Israel tells US it has 'bad feeling' about Turkey

WikiLeaks: Israel, Chile Spied on Iranian Activity in Latin America

WikiLeaks: Israel bombed Syrian nuclear facility

WikiLeaks: Israel is Preparing for "Major War" in Middle East

Clearly , Wikileaks is working for Israel and has a pro-Israel bias. Just look at all those Wikileaks cables making Israel look absolutely wonderful.

Aside from that, and still on the topic of Israel, "Veterans Today" claims the nation pulled off 9/11. I suppose that's why, prior to 9/11, Israel was one of many countries which warned the US that an attack was on the way. Makes sense, right?

What's particularly interesting about "Veterans Today" blaming Israel for 9/11 is that Lt. General Hamid Gul (mentioned previously) is not only from Pakistan, but has connections to Pakistan's intelligence agency -- the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) -- which allegedly funneled money to the 9/11 hijackers:

"The Wall Street Journal reported in October 2001 that Lt. Gen. Mahmud Ahmed, head of the Pakistani intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence, ordered $100,000 be given to Mohamed Atta in the US. The Journal further noted that the FBI had confirmed this information. So perhaps it’s not surprising that Pakistan wouldn’t warn the US what its intelligence chief was up to. But again, this information did reach the US through other means. On July 14, 1999, Randy Glass, a thief turned government informant, was wiretapping a meeting in New York City in which he was trying to sell military equipment to some Pakistanis as part of a sting operation. During the meeting, a Pakistani intelligence agent pointed to the World Trade Center and said to Glass, “Those towers are coming down.” Glass recorded this on tape, and passed this and other disturbing evidence to his local congressperson, senator, and others. Senator Bob Graham has admitted his office received such a warning from Glass before 9/11."

But wait, there's more to the 9/11 story, according to "Veterans Today".

Apparently, the planes that slammed into the towers weren't the cause of their collapse; there were bombs rigged in the buildings ( no, we're not talking about thermite).

What kind of explosives were used? " Mini nukes", says "Veterans Today".

Well, there you have it. The whole 9/11 mystery has been solved.

A final point about their "nukes took down the towers" story...

I found this obviously unimportant disclaimer way at the bottom of the page:

"This article is entirely, completely and only my opinion based on the interpretation of the referenced information. While the views above may be shared by many millions [sic] exhausted by this government, they are only my views and I do not imply that they are actually shared by anyone else."

Seems legit.

In conclusion, I'll leave you with one last article from "Veterans Today" titled, "The Secret Transformation of Our Elected Officials and What It Means for The American Republic", which goes on to explain (
copied directly):

"THE ALIEN AGENDA APPEARS TO BE TWO TIERED;  IN THE HIGHER TIER, BEYOND BLACK SECURITY CLEARANCED “MEMBERS” ARE TOLD THE OF THE ALIEN INVADERS AND ALIEN AGENDA—AND THEY HAVE BEEN RUMORED TO THEN DISPENSE A SPECIAL COVER STORY TO THEIR ASSOCIATES WHO ARE AT A SECOND LOWER TIER AND WHO DO NOT HAVE SUCH SECURITY CLEARANCE  THE COVER STORY THE FIRST TIER IS RUMORED TO DISPENSE TO THE SECOND TIER IS RUMORED TO BE A “BENEVOLENT LIE” WHICH DOES NOT MENTION ALIENS IN ANY FASHION, BUT MERELY THE ABSOLUTE NEED TO IMPLEMENT THE GLOBALIST NWO SYSTEM IN ORDER TO AVOID COMPLETE ECONOMIC BREAKDOWN AND THE DECLARATION OF MARTIAL LAW IN THE STREETS OF AMERICA"

As with other disinfo websites, some articles on "Veterans Today" do contain legitimate information about current events. Perhaps that's to maintain the illusion that the website as a whole deserves to be trusted; however, considering the aforementioned, we know better than that, and would be better served getting our facts from Fox News than "Veterans Today", which isn't saying much of anything good for either "news" networks.

The idea that Veteran's Today is :
"VT is the only independent, unaligned voice of its kind in America, accepting no financial support from any organization or individual, existing solely for educational purposes.

..is complete crap.

Welcome to Peapolz Media

We are a management and consulting firm for a conglomerate of Online Businesses that utilize the world wide web as a platform to dominate and win in the niche markets where they compete……

Mmmm...that doesn't sound like an "independent, unaligned voice of its kind in America, accepting no financial support from any organization or individual, existing solely for educational purposes".  That sounds like Veterans Today/Hireveterans are a sleazing money making operation of some kind.

Then it's no surprise Peaploz Media is hosted on the same servers as both Veteran's Today and HireVeterans, and Registered by Veteran Today's John Allen:

Hire Veterans is advertised in the big banner on their home page:

But someone forget to tell them they're a non profit, educational operation:

They forgot Epic Failure
With over one-hundred web sites under ownership, management, consultation and promotion, our global team of leaders, coders, net marketers, promoters, writers, and supporters bring in the traffic that counts!

Over 1 Million Unique Visitors Per Month

Doing battle on the net, we wage business war on the superhighway everyday using all the net tools and  strategies to win the day.   We have millions of page views each day paying hommage to what is now Net 2.0 or, as some call it, 3.0!
For us, selling is at the core of what we do.  It is at the center of our existence.  We are not just a bunch of non-sensical sites with no business model.  No No No!   We only do business that makes cents.  Its’ that simple.  We sell therefore we are!
Our aim is to bring in revenue with a vengence while providing our visitors the highest level of media info, products, and services possible; all done with the highest level of integrity.
It gets better:

Building Media Networks that Matter

With the Veterans Today Network (VTN), since 2003, we’ve been helping U.S. Veterans succeed by promoting good media, information, and services.  With over  60 plus web sites servicing this important market niche, we are now considered a major consultant player in this market.

At VTN, they have over 130 esteemed, decorated and award winning staff writers posting over 25,000 articles covering a plethora of topics from politics, money, opportunities and more..
In addition, we also manage and consult for a Media Network of sites service global interests.   With cutting edge financial media sites like MunKnee.com to promoting the wine industry in Mexico through Baja Wine Guide and Vinos de Mexico, our cyber tentaticals reach far and wide.
Being a creative bunch, we also dig deep into the global music industry through our Peapolz Media Records making licensing deals for music pubishing and promoting music artists that matter
As they say on the Peapolz Media cyber street, we are in it to win it.
So Let’s Do Business!
And mistakes are made on Veteran's Today where evidence of connections to Peapolz Media leak through:

[...] into the WordPress editor.  Boom, no weird code!   You can see the fixed article here.”American Bribe Stinks;….“   HTML tab is where all the code fixing goes on………take a look! It’s [...]
Then there's the profile of closet BDSM writer Johnny Punish, the front man for Peapolz media machine:
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Johnny Punish is a musician, artist, entertainer, life coach, and syndicated columnist. His articles appear in Veterans Today, MunKNEE and his Johnny Punish Blog. His art music is promoted by Peapolz Media Records and played on net radio at Last.fm , EarBits and more.

But the spin off site, Hireveterans,  is moar dangerous than conspiracy cult ridden Veteran's Today.  While VT is shoveling conspiracy cult bullshit left and right, Hireveterans is actively soliciting vets desperate for jobs to sign up and  give personal information to these creapy mcfucks...with no indication anywhere on their website they have a connection to Veteran's Today.

These people are...surprise, surprise... running a scam.  At the least, they're lying about Veteran's Day being "independent, unaligned" and " accepting no financial support from any organization or individual", when obviously it's a front from Peapolz Media who's aim is to " bring in revenue with a vengence" and "Do Business".

John P. Allen was so eager to "do business" he put HireVeterans.com up for sale in 2010:

Our job board at HireVeterans.com is For Sale

For May, we had over 142,000 unique visitors
Our revenues are up with Employers paying $ 708 to join with unlimited job posting and resume access.
We have over 13,000 job seekers registered and over 1000 Employers.

In fact, our Veterans Today Network has busted out this month and broke our unique visitor record!
This includes the job board www.HireVeterans.com

Last month, we were at 190,000 unique visitors
This month, for May, we had 311,086 unique visitors

That’s a 39% increase…that is massive crazy!
We had over 22 million hits!  Amazing!  This is crazy good!
We are FOR SALE!
So if you are the market to buy us out or know some one or company that is....let me know ASAP.

Have a Great Veterans Today Day!

That could be the scam...building websites for an established base of conspiracy cultists who can be depended on to lurk in swarms, boosting the traffic artificially.  If it was Bivona who bought the website, he wasn't scared off by the tinfoil.   Either Bivona is a fellow scammer or more evidence PT Barnum was right.
